Cars on the Campus 2018

What can we say about this years ‘Cars on the Campus’?

Yet again the sun shone on us, we had the largest, most diverse and best range of classic, retro & modern vehicles yet and the wonderful Ayrshire Public came in their droves to support us & enjoy the day (Judging by the complimentary posts on social media both those exhibiting & attending certainly did enjoy it – Thank you!)

Thanks go to Depute Provost of East Ayrshire, Claire Leitch, who opened the show, spent all day mingling with the owners and the Ayrshire public and stayed on to present the prizes to our winners!

How do you pick winners from the riches on display?

An impossible job, but the judges did try and four awards were made on the day:

‘Best in Show’ was awarded to Allan Livingstone’s fabulous 1926 Vauxhall 14/44

Second Prize went to Jim Scott’s immaculate 1966 Mk1 Ford Cortina with Third Prize being awarded to Steven Quinn’s wonderful 1991 Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk2.

The Prize for Ayrshire Classics Car Club ‘Favourite Car’ went to Andrew Paterson’s superb 1957 Mk1 LandRover Series 1

Congratulations to our winners and indeed to everyone who displayed on the day.
The care, effort & expertise lavished on every entrants Classic was there for all to see – The generosity shown to the public in allowing them access to your pride & joy as well as the time taken to share the stories of the vehicles is what makes our hobby and those who enjoy it stand apart from all else.

We do our best to make Cars on the Campus the ‘Best and Friendliest Car Show in the ‘shire’ but it’s those who attend who make it what it is – Once again, Thanks!

The show wasn’t just limited to cars. Our indoor displays were well attended & enjoyed as always with a variety of interests represented (just look at the photographs in the Gallery at the bottom of the page)

Finally, we couldn’t make the show as good as it always is without the generous support of our sponsors & advertisers – please support them the way they support us.
They are a fabulous collection of local businesses who excel in their chosen fields and we appreciate them dearly!

You can see their adverts in the show brochure by clicking ‘HERE’

Finally, thanks go to the CotC committee for yet again kicking off the show season with an event that just keeps getting better with age – just like all your Classics!
