Crossing the Forth for #RAF100

As most of you will know, this year sees the 100th Anniversary of the foundation of the RAF and we have been proud to be associated in a small way with their celebration at this years Scottish International Air Show but the celebrations continue and we were delighted to see club member Paul Meehan and his Ferrari California join 99 other fabulous Classics and Supercars as they ‘Crossed the Forth’ in honour of the World Oldest Independent Air Force.

The day’s events started with the processional drive northbound from South Queensferry over the Forth to Broomhall House where the assembled iconic cars from the last 100 years formed a display alongside a WW2 Spitfire.

Various car club stands, refreshments, music and displays by the RAF, a radio controlled model Battle of Britain air display and,a fly-past by a Tiger Moth completed the attractions.

The spectacle was covered by The Courier and AWOL Media Productions captured a video of the day for posterity.

Paul, who is a pilot himself flying Boeing 747’s for British Airways, reported a great day being had by all and yet another fitting celebration of our Air Force and those who have served in it.

The beneficiary of the day was the RAF Benevolent Fund which does sterling work in supporting RAF personnel, past and present and their families.
